Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine combines R&B, jazz and soul in the style that is his own. From Broadway to European music festivals and clubs Sunshine has performed everywhere. The real name of Sunshine is Denise White. She is originally from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by playing the piano and singing at church. In Atlanta, she attended Spellman College where her musical instruction began with the Atlanta's R&B Scene. The first track to showcase her voice was called Stalk You, a Japanese house 12; since then it has been remixed and a component of her repertoire. The Fighting Temptations was the other soundtrack she sang on. She was appointed as the principal keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns in 2005. In 2007 Grammy and Tony Award-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to serve as the director of the choir for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls in the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine gained national recognition during her four daily performances at the Democratic National Convention. She was later invited to sing during President Obama's 2009 inauguration.
